Recycled sweatshirts for a new conception of fashion The observation is clear: the textile industry is one of the most polluting in the world. In order to remedy this, players in this industry are starting to turn to promising alternatives which are gaining popularity. Pre-order, second hand and new materials, these are all possibilities that are being democratized to stem this alarming reality. At Payote, we have chosen to limit our environmental impact by favoring materials that are more respectful of the planet. This year, we are offering two new collections of eco-responsible sweatshirts for men and women. Obtained from recycled cotton and polyester , they benefit from the GRS - Global Recycled Standard - certificate issued by Ecocert. Thanks to this recycled composition, the environmental impact of our sweatshirts is much less harmful than that of conventional models. In fact, the manufacture of clothing from recycled materials requires much less water and energy since existing materials only need to be transformed. Beyond reduced energy costs, these recycled sweatshirts also allow us to fight textile waste on our own scale. With colossal quantities of used clothing piling up in illegal landfills, raising consumer awareness about recycled fibers has become a necessity. However, it is important to note that products made from recycled materials may have slight variations in color and composition. This makes each model unique to some extent. Obviously, the quality is not alternating. Quite the contrary: our Payote recycled sweatshirts are as good quality as conventional sweatshirts. Their interior is made of fleece fabric, very soft and comfortable.

Everything about the composition

All our recycled crewneck sweatshirts are made from 55% recycled cotton and 45% recycled polyester . Cotton comes from industrial scraps, thus limiting waste production. For polyester, it comes from used clothing and plastic bottles. We estimate that there is on average the equivalent of 11 50cl plastic bottles in a sweatshirt. This composition fully fits our sweatshirt into a circular economy approach, offering consumers the opportunity to make a purchase with less impact on the planet.
