Women’s recycled espadrilles
Recycled espadrilles: a step towards a greener wardrobe!
Payote's mission is to reveal products that have a history and that proudly reflect local know-how. With this in mind, we shared with you our enthusiasm for looking for new materials to work with. Because they too have their own story. The story we decided to tell you this summer is that of our recycled espadrilles. A collection that begins with awareness and takes shape thanks to our compelling desire to move towards more responsible fashion. It's no secret: the seas and oceans are overflowing with plastic. Marine pollution has reached such a high level that a “seventh continent of waste” has emerged. So faced with this observation, we chose to integrate materials that would help limit the impact of this environmental tragedy. Thanks to our partnership with the company Seaqual, we were able to introduce our first recycled espadrilles made from marine waste. A small innovation that raises public awareness of a cause with global issues.
Several models that carry our ambitions
Raise awareness yes, but without losing the fun and fanciful spirit of our graphic touch. Because this collection had to remain a reflection of our identity. We decided to illustrate a colorful print in our image on each model. Since this collection is a tribute to the marine ecosystem, we deliberately chose to illustrate marine animals. Whales, coral, sea turtles have been invited to enhance our recycled canvases. You will therefore be spoiled for choice when it comes to offering yourself an ecological product that matches your summer wardrobe. Because we didn't just have to be interested in materials, the collection of recycled models also carries our other values. Transparency and French manufacturing are therefore in the spotlight. In addition to benefiting from the same quality as our other models, we have them manufactured in limited series to avoid excess stock. In the interest of durability, we also chose to use a reinforced nylon thread seam to sew the canvas to the sole. This makes the models more resistant to friction and pressure from the wearer's feet.
